JAN 27 Missoula, CrystalTheater Fund Raiser

The Tibetan Children’s Education Foundation a Montana based non profit will be embarking on it’s 6th Service trip March 1, 2013. For the last six
years TCEF has provided direct service to Tibetan refugees and marginalized Himalayan populations. Many Montanans and several Missoulians have been participants in providing much needed basic
medical care, vocational training and educational training.
This year the focus is working in collaboration with the Jamgon Kontrul Charity Eye Hospital in sponsoring an eye camp in Zuluk Sikkim, a high
Himalayan village with no access to medical services.
TCEF’s 2012 service trip identified untreated vision problems in children and elders and TCEF made the connection with the charity hospital to provide free surgery and treatments. It will cost $2500 to bring the eye camp to
Zuluk.

TCEF continues to provide a lunch program of dal, rice and vegetables to
the young monks of Dubdi Monastery ,also in Sikkim. The basic health
assessments done in 2012 found ALL the monks to be below international
height and weight standards . It costs $4.63 a day to feed 35 monks.
Please join TCEF on Sunday January 27th , from 4 – 6pm at the Crystal
Theater (through the Silk Road Rest) 515 S Higgins, for a fund raiser.
There will be a viewing of the documentary film CHILDREN OF THE
CLOUDS , Indian samosas and chai and silent auction.
